Senior Algal Production Scientist

The company focus is the commercialization of high performance, low cost, and low carbon footprint biofuels that will substitute for conventional gasoline, diesel, and jet fuel.
Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Design, construction, and operation of scale up systems and processes for the cultivation of algal feedstocks.
- Conduct experiments in the laboratory and interpret data from production runs at our field site(s).
- Work with strain development team.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in plant or algal biology, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in commercial algae production.
- Ability to participate in interdisciplinary teams.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred:
- PhD in organic chemistry, lipid chemistry, natural products chemistry, or a related field.
- 10+ years of commercial experience managing outdoor cultures of microalgae.
- Analytical chemistry and/or downstream experience with algal biomass, pigments, fats, oils and derivatives
- The ideal candidate will have experience directing laboratory research of microalgal physiology as well as with laboratory techniques of microalgal strain selection.
- Record of publication in commercial algal culture.
